Fire in the City Guided Walk by Tony Tucker

Visiting the Firefighters’ Memorial and a range of Wren’s churches, this walk will focus on the Blitz, and the firefighters who fought to save the City.

To complement the London Fire Brigade’s pop-up display ‘Fire in the City,’ City Guide Tony Tucker will guide a walk which will visit the Firefighters’ Memorial near St Paul’s Cathedral, and a range of Sir Christopher Wren’s best City churches. This walk will take place in some of the City’s 2000-year history, but will focus on the impact of the Blitz, and the firefighters who fought to save the City from the threat of fire. Some of these firefighters were also artists who documented the horrors of the Blitz and the experience of the firefighters who fought to save London.

The tour will start at West Steps, at the Ludgate Hill at the end of St Paul’s Cathedral.
